please help…can my accident attorney drop my case, and no further assist me…?
i had a car accident in nov 28th 2006, and my lawyer chose my doctor, who later operated on my knee (arthroscopic part of the accident injury)….
today, the other driver insurance called me, and told me that they got a letter from my lawyer telling them that he no longer represent me. last month, i called the lawyer for update, his secretary told me that my case as transferred to heir trial lawyer. i called that trial lawyer, and they never returned my call, and i never got any any formal letter from either lawyer to inform me on the change.
Please hepl me what should i do next??? i went for physical therapy 3xweek for more than 6 months..could my case be lost,and they lawyer just drop my case..no longer nat to handle it?????
please help me understand… i just called my lawyer, and he seems to be avoiding me, and so I emailed…
can you please tell me what should I do? Could he do that to me..drop me? Should I seek another lawyer in the middle of this??

if he dropped me for lawyer reason, like can’t win my case..does this mean he just leave me…not untill i called last month, his assitant no longer have your file, your case was trasfered to our trial lawyer..she gave me the name, and number,, but that layer never even send me a ltter, or return my phone call…could the other lawyer refuses me too??

i finally sent 2 letters to both lawyers, i mailed them cerified. thye should get he leers by thursday. i still have no phone calls from eithter one. i left messages for both.
i did not mention anything about complaining to the state bar.

My husband received practically nothing (around 2000 of the expected 75,000 (I’ve factored in medical expenses paid for) thanks to an incompetent attorney who rarely returned his calls. My husband, before I met him, was in a car accident a few years ago that was the other driver’s fault, and suffered massive injuries to the head/brain, face, and body. He practically died (had death experience but came back because it wasn’t his time). He lost his firefighter and potential stuntman career and is now on disability.
Someone with legal expertise, please tell me….can my husband legally have this case reopened or a new case involving the accident filed by a different, hopefully better, lawyer?

my husband accepted the award check I think because
1) having suffered head trauma, he doesn’t think as fast on his feet as before the accident, and
2) the attorney was sneaky and rarely returned his calls, kept my husband in the dark about the case so my husband did not know what was up, when they met for the settlement.
Is it better to pay a 35% attorney fee in a auto accident settlement or do it yourself? We are in Idaho.?
I know it depends on each case, but we are depating weather to retain an attorney or fight it ourselves.
Personal injury attorney not releasing funds from settled portion of our case?
We have been dealing with a personal injury lawsuit for about two years. The accident occurred in CA and we reside in another state, so we are dealing with our attorney all long distance. The case has been complicated, mainly due to an inattentive attorney from the start, whom we fired. We retained our current attorney not too long ago and the case against the defendants insurance company has been resolved and funds have been sent to our attorney. Here is where it becomes tricky. The funds for my settlement have been sent to us, the attorney is holding the funds from my husband’s portion of the settlement until a settlement is reached with our insurance company (the defendant was an underinsured driver, we had underisured driver coverage). Our attorney claims he cannot release these funds because he will more than likely need to spend the money on litigating the case against our insurance company..and it just does not make sense to me. In our eyes, the case against the defendant is closed (and in the courts eyes) I don’t see why the funds cannot be released, but my attorney alleges this is normal practice in personal injury law. Anyone have any experience with a situation similar to this? Thanks.

If insurance is covering the situation, why would one of the drivers retain an attorney to sue the other drivers?

I have an auto accident case which the logging truck driver jacknifed his truck and hit me head on. I sustained serious injuries, and am suing. Nobody saw the accident, it was far out. I was flown out by medivac. The insurance company representing the logging company hired their “experts” who came back and claim I veered in to his lane and hit him, therefore my injuries are “my fault.”
What happens if after reviewing the entire case the judge accepts the defense request for dismissal. Will I have to pay the thousands the defense spent up to that point???

My chain is being pulled in auto accident lawsuit i have that’s been going on since february 2006 ? 1st of all i was in a auto accident as the front seat passenger in which my driver was not at fault he was an elderly man but that did not had anything to do with the lawsuit recently he passed away a few months after the accident i had to take out a loan for personal reasons of 5 thousand dollars being i was out of work and being advise not to return back too work since then my loan have grew to almost 12 thousand dollars i was hoping my lawsuit would’ve been over by now in a meantime every time i had some sorta appointment it always was postponed by the other parties involved such as my deposition and then my arbitration was postponed a few weeks every time this happens my loan grows more and more i recently was awarded 20 thousand dollars in july during my arbitration however i was told by my lawyer that the insurance company has 30 days to appeal the decision in which he said they did so now i am waiting on a trial date he recently told me he had a telephone settlement conference that did not go well i heard they only offer 10 thousand dollars i find this hard to believe that the insurance company will keep fighting a measly 20 grand i heard my trial date is 10-21-08 now i hear they are pushing that date back what should i ask him being i only want 4000 thousand for my pockets by november is this possible
