I was in an auto accident and hired a lawyer to represent me. The insurance companies are (mine & the other motorist) are investgating in order to determine who is at fault… Meanwhile, I’m asking my attorney to see if the other motorist has full coverage, liability, etc… so I can have an idea as to how things are going to play themselves out in regards to my medical bills, and other compensation, etc… The attorney claims that he can’t get the details of the other motorist’s insurance policy to answer my questions. This doesn’t sound right to me. Shouldn’t he, not only be able to obtain their policy, but be working diligently, early on in the process, to obtain this information so he can guage the “possible” compensation that, not only myself, but the docter & himself (the lawyer) may receive? …my injury is a life altering injury and I need to know what options I have in regards to my medical & all other compensation I may be entitled to. I am not the type to blindly allow my lawyer to do as he chooses, while I remain in the dark as to the facts regarding my situation. Please enlighten me…

I have been in a auto accident 2 yrs ago limited threshold
not my fault -rear ened driver recived ticket reckless driving
eversince that day I have tons of expenses lost my job becuase I couldn’t come in becuase I was injured and they let me go. I’m still going thru therapy now
and have lot’s of pain to the point that I had burning off the nurves in my neck 4nerves, injestions, accupuncture,pain meds,muscle relaxers etc. He has not helped me at all I wanted to get another lawyer he told me that he will make money on it too since he sued for me. I have dr bill for 3,000 since I had the accident and keep on sending it to him and nothing is done. He never calls me , never helps me even though my auto doesn’t wanna pay for anything a long time ago

recently I had a car accident, a semi truck rear ended me totaled my car, I had neck injury. the lawyer recover $7500 for me(included all medical, car rental expense), he want to charge me $2500 33.3 % of the settlement . But however my medical expense is $3500 and my rental car car expense is $800. This basically leave $700 for my wage lost and other pain and suffering. my question is can lawyer take a percentage on my medical bill, rental car which in my opinion those arematerial demage, and I think they should just take the percentage from my wage, pain and suffering demage. Please advise regards

Well medical expense and car rental expense I could recover without lawyer. Because these arewith a fixed cost. I had an accident 10 years ago and I just files the cliam against the other party’s insurance company. They assign me a rental car the very next day, and also they pay for my emergency room visit. since this time my accident was more serious I hire a lawyer. but however he didn’t get me a rental car the lawyer ask me to go rent car out of my pocket first which I think their motive is take a percentage on my rental car expense they recover. so that why I think why should take a percentage on my rental car expense (they couldn’t get a settlement for the demage of my car for 4 weeks so I had to paid 800 dollar for rental car the lawyer could’ve just ask the insurance company to rent a car for me) and medical expense is fixed cost as well. the motive is truly questionable

Do you still need to pay him?
He is not allowed to represent us in small claims court (lawyers are not allowed)
But he still filed all the papers for court because the insurance we are suing wouldnt pay.
He prepared us for court (telling us what to say)

Can a lawyer put in an amount to an insurance adjustor to try and make a settlement for a personal injury case without first discussing it with the client?
He never even told us the amount, he just put in the offer. We were expecting it to be much higher but it is a very unique case hopefully he knows best. I thought before he put in the amount he should of at least contacted me and let me know what was going on which he never did.

i was in an auto accident in august. i have a very popular law firm helping me with this matter. it is pretty large. i seem disconnected with them. i had to beg them to come see me. their main office is an hour away, the other is 30 minutes away. since we first got together, they kept promising to come see me in person. it took a month of me calling every week. i do not get calls on updates. i call them. and they never know. they pretend like they know, but my senses say otherwise. they do not return my calls in a timely matter. am i being irrational about this matter? i know it is a large law firm and they are busy. but i expect the same courtesy if i did business in any other kind of matter.

My son was sent to the hospital by ambulance, where they did a CAT scan, many xrays, and an EKG. He was sent home with perscriptions and told to see his doctor in 3 – 5 days. He went to his doc, and still has neck and back pain and fluid on his right knee….translation…more dr’s apts and more meds. My son is 22 years old, just out of the Marines with plans to go to college in the fall…he has a part time job that does not come with sick leave, so every day he misses is out of pocket.
A few facts: My son was not at fault (was not ticketed for any violation)
The other auto/driver thought it was a 4-way stop and pulled out in front of him. Also he was in a company pickup, so is a company insurance we are working with.
I guess my question is, will he recieve a settlement from the insurance company? Do we need to get a lawyer, or is it too soon to know? When should we get a lawyer if we need to?
